I commenced my artistic career in printmaking and experimented with various mediums before settling on working with oils. I enjoy the flexibility they provide to express my ideas through their blending, layering and glazing abilities, along with the vibrancy of colour.
A lot of inspiration for my subjects and landscapes comes from travelling around Tasmania, especially many trips on the Midland Highway and to the east coast. I enjoy finding ways of re-interpreting scenery and settings I see using colour and form, or altering viewpoints, to bring a new perspective to the familiar, always with an eye for the unusual or quirky.
